Ο Γιώργος Λάνθιμος εξακολουθεί να εντυπωσιάζει το Hollywood και μας γενικότερα, με την τελευταία του ταινία "Poor Things", να είναι υποψήφια για 11 Όσκαρ μεταξύ των οποίων αυτό για την καλύτερη σκηνοθεσία, πρώτου γυναικείου ρόλου, β' ανδρικού, αλλά και της καλύτερης ταινίας.
Η μοναδική ταινία που έχει περισσότερες υποψηφιότητες φέτος είναι το Oppenheimer του Christopher Nolan, σε μια "μάχη" πολύ ενδιαφέρουσα. Ακολουθεί στην τρίτη θέση η Barbie με 8 υποψηφιότητες ενώ μια ακόμη ταινία που ξεχώρισε πέρσι, το The Holdovers, είναι υποψήφιο για 5 όσκαρ.
